Cooper joined NewsRadio1620 in 2010. Before then, he was an anchor and producer for KMBZ news radio inKansas City. Prior to working inKansas City, he was News Director for KMXL 95.1 FM and KDMO 1490 AM in Joplin, Missouri.
He attended the University of Central Missouri, where he studied broadcasting and film while playing football for the UCM Fighting Mules. He also hosted “The Big Shu Show”, a weekly two-hour college humor and talk show on KWKJ / KOKO in Warrensburg. He describes himself as “generally a fun person who is passionate about work and news”.

Jeff Knox

Jeff came toPensacola in 2009 to be the play-by-play announcer for the Pensacola Pelicans baseball team. From the Pelicans, he moved to doing play-by-play for the Ice Flyers. Wanting to switch to radio news and sports, Jeff joined NewsRadio1620 in 2010 and immediately began reporting on the Gulf oil spill. He joined the news team fulltime in 2011, and this fall will do play-by-play announcing for NewsRadio1620’s High School Football Game of the Week.
A fifth-generation San Franciscan, Jeff graduated from UCLA where he was active in sports broadcasting, athletic recruiting, and a member of the cycling team. After graduation, he worked for Fox Sports inLos Angeles. Jeff loves thePensacola beaches, the kindness of people who live here, and the fact that you let him merge on the freeway.

Kyle has been with the NewsRadio 1620 team since the summer of 2012. He is originally from Baton Rouge, LA, and has lived in the Pensacola area since 1994. Having studied English at the University of Florida, his background is in writing and he continues to write freelance on occasion. He’ll step behind the news desk now and then, but his regular gig is getting you to work on time with morning traffic reports every weekday.

Shawn Bell

A self-proclaimed Appalachian American, Shawn joined NewsRadio1620 on New Years Day 2013, and hasn’t looked back since. Moving to Pensacola from Kentucky in 2010, he’s spent the last 3 years working as an event dj with Boogie Inc. While studying communications at LMU in Harrogate, Tn, he “cut his teeth” in radio by hosting a rock and roll program at 91.3 The Gap. At the beginning of 2013, Shawn was inducted into the Honorary Order of Kentucky Colonels in his homestate, fullfilling a childhood dream. An avid student of history, Shawn has found the Greater Pensacola area facinating, and although he misses the mountains, feels he’s at home here.
