On this episode of the Pensacola Expert Panel, Health Officer and Administrator for the Florida Department of Health in Escambia County Marie Mott, JD MS RDN CSSD LDN, joins Ruthie Cee to update the community on COVID 19 prevention and how best to stay connected and get the latest news on the vaccine as it becomes available.
Marie also addresses another health issue facing our community: Hepatitis A prevention and vaccination. No appointment is required at Department of Health offices around the county to get a Hep A vaccination. Marie points out that hand sanitizer does not prevent the spread of this particular virus but vigorous handwashing with antibacterial soap and hot water for a minimum of 20 seconds helps prevent the spread.
