Santa Rosa County to Open Shelter


Milton Community Center (also known as the Guy Thompson Community Center) at 5629 Byrom

Street opens at 1pm Tuesday for evacuees.

Pet Friendly

Special needs evacuees must come with their own care-giver. 

Pet owners and special needs residents should be registered with Santa Rosa County.

Bring supplies, including clothing, 3-days of personal supplies and items, blankets and sleeping bags,

games and toys for children, any special dietary needs, and food and water for the first 24 hours.

Closures / local gov’t offices

Santa Rosa county offices, court system and the City of Milton will close at 12n Tuesday—reopening on Thursday.


Santa Rosa County schools and offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Decision on Thursday will be announced Wednesday afternoon.

Council on Aging of West Florida

All activities and services will be suspended or closed on Wednesday.

Meals on Wheels will not be delivered Wednesday, but will be delivered on Thursday.

Pine Forest and Carroll in Milton

Citrus and Leisure in Navarre

Tiger Point Park in Gulf Breeze

Pace Fire Rescue in Pace

Road Closures/Traffic Conditions

Choctaw Field Rd. closed until further notice due to anticipated storm surge.

Dangerous road conditions can be reported to 983-5372.

Bridges will be closed when there are sustained winds of 39 mph.  Bridges are not closed in advance.

FDOT will assist first responders with traffic control, detours or road closures but the department will suspend emergency response if the Hurricane’s sustained winds reach 45mph
